About My Friend Kim

To the world, my friend Kim is an accomplished, intelligent, self-made businesswoman.  She is all that but what many people don’t know is that inside she is really a perpetual teenager, who refuses to believe she is actually a Golden Girl.

Kim was born abroad, living in Germany, Greece, Yugoslavia and England.  Ditching her English accent, she moved to the States when she was 12.  She spent her formative years in New York City, clubbing at Studio 54, Xenon’s and the Funhouse.

Kim then took some time out to attend college at Boston University where she majored in bartending.  Moving to Los Angeles and getting her first driver’s license at 25, Kim worked in public relations for Warner Brothers, before starting her own successful firm.

Kim has spent more time dating than anyone I know.  That makes her a pro (not prostitute but professional) and she has a wealth of dating advice to offer.  She can also hold her liquor and we have spent many any evening tying one on and solving the world’s problems.

I think, in the future, you will enjoy getting to know Kim and her wonder dog, Walter, as much as I have over the past several years.

About My Friend Gina

Gina is the world’s best mother.  She can throw together a party for thirty people with only one hour’s notice.  She is the Martha Stewart of Sherman Oaks…insider trading and all.  Gina is also one of the funniest people I have ever met…especially when she’s drunk.

Born in Michigan, Gina developed solid mid-West values early on, and then gave them all up when she moved to Los Angeles.  She spent most of her formative years in the suburbs of Chicago perfecting the best parking lot donut (I don’t even know what that is).  Her dad wore a turtleneck and was the disco king.  I am very jealous of that.

She was married once, I heard, until she got dumped.  She and her then-husband canvassed this great United States, looking for the ideal market in which to raise their kids.  Turns out that was L.A. Today, she lives with some dude…he almost never talks.  She likes it that way, since she rarely ever shuts up.

Her kids are growing up just fine, despite all this.  Her dog is a little fat, and now the cat is too.  But this big, dysfunctional family is wonderful and I know you will have fun reading about them all.
